Disneyland Candlelight 2008

Dear CCC Friends & Family,

Well the answer came back to me on Thursday in a letter stating we did not make it again this year. This was a bit confusing to me as Brent Ayotte and I both thought for certain we would make it. As he and I heard the recordings for the Praise Ensemble and the Christian Community Choir and felt that CCC's recording was just as good as PE's. And yet, the Praise Ensemble got accepted where as the CCC did not. Brent even went so far as to call and confirm that CCC didn't make it as he had been previously informed by Lori Cook that the Community Choir from Riverside DID make it. However, it was actually the Community Choral from Riverside that got accepted. Truthfully we were all quite shocked. But we had all prayed about it and since we know that God answers our prayers, we must accept His"no" answers as well; knowing that His answers are always best.

That being said Brent wanted me to let those of you know that he plans to include all of those from CCC who auditioned with the Praise Ensemble in their numbers. If possible he hopes to include as many as he can from the rest who auditioned with us, as he has space available. I will be forwarding the list of those who auditioned with us to him for his consideration.
I know this may be a discouragement for many of you, as it was for me. Yet God's words are a comfort, as I am reminded o f David's words to his son Solomon,
"Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished." (I Chronicles 28:20)

And of course those very familiar words of the Lord Himself through the prophet Jeremiah, who declared, "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" (Jeremiah 29:11)
As always it was a joy and blessing to see you all again and share together in ministry. So until such time as the Lord should bring us together again, take courage, keep the faith and Lord willing we will succeed next year.

Disneyland Candlelight Recording FRIDAY 9/26/08

Hi All CCC Folks,

 

This Friday night (9-26) we will be recording for the Disneyland Candlelight Ceremony. We will NOT be meeting at Rose Anne's house but we WILL BE meeting at Martin Luther King High School at 6:00 p.m. in the foyer of the theater. The high school is located at:

We will be recording "The First Noel" and "He Is Born". I set the at 6:00 PM in order to assist those who are going to the Children's Ministry Dinner at Harvest to still be able to join us. Please try to be there as close to 6:00 PM as possible so we can include the most people possible. Look forward to seeing you then and there.

Prayer Request - Diana Garcia

Just to let everyone know that Diana Garcia is supposed to go home tomorrow.  The doctors give her 1 week to 6 months to live.  She is getting weaker and sleeps a lot.  Her pain has increased more so she is on heavier pain medicine.  Hospice will be in charge of her care.  Please continue to pray for her to be comfortable and for peace in her heart. We will keep you updated as we receive information.

Rehearsals Starting Again!!!

Hello Christian Community Choir!

It's Disney time again!  Time to begin rehearsals again so we can send a recording to Disneyland.  Tom would like to get the choir together for an initial meeting on Friday, September 12th...that's NEXT Friday...at Roseanne's house at 7:00 p.m.  (Call Tom or myself for address and directions.)

We are shooting for recording on September 26th (location to be announced...could be King High School.)  If we are accepted by Disney, rehearsals will be held on the following dates:

Friday, October 24th

Friday, November 7th

Friday, November 21st

Regional rehearsal would be Monday, December 1st.

Rehearsal for Friday, April 24th CANCELED

Hello Christian Community Choir,

I regret to inform you that we have to cancel choir rehearsal for tomorrow night because Tom's brother has passed away.  More details will follow at a later time, but in the meantime...please keep Tom and his family in prayer.

Please, if you know that someone on the choir does not have internet access and will not receive this message, pass this information along to them as we want to save them a trip to Roseanne's house.

Tom, our hearts and prayers go out to you and your family in this very difficult time.

Welcome to our blog site.  This is going to be the place where we update you on when/where rehearsals and performances are, song lists, announcements, prayer requests and any other important information as well.

Now, with all of the "housekeeping" out of the way...our next rehearsal will be April 11th at Roseanne's house at 7:00 PM.  If you need the address and/or directions, please call the contact number listed in the "About Me" section of this page. 

Snack responsibilities are with Cecilia and Barbara since the last rehearsal was canceled.  If you cannot bring a snack, please call the contact number. 

Christian Community Choir has been confirmed to perform at Calvary Chapel East Hills on Sunday, June 1st.  More information to follow.

Prayer request:

Jamie and Jay - Jay has an appointment with City of Hope this week.  We are doing our pre-op testing and there is a possibility of his surgery date being moved up from April 23rd.  Please pray that the Lord's hand would be upon us as well as the doctors.  Thank you for your prayers.

Finally...A Way To Communicate With Everyone

Hi Tom!

See?  This is a great way to post pictures from performances and communicate with all choir members without having to worry about losing their email address.  People can come to this website and click on the "Alerts" button and sign themselves up to receive information every time we update the blog.  The way it will work is when you make an entry (or me...whatever) an alert will go to each person's email account letting them know that there is a new entry from you.  Also, below each entry, there is an option for people to leave comments regarding your entry or whatever they want to leave a comment about...and then that comment will come to you and me as an alert so we know that there is a comment for us to read.  Pretty cool, huh?

Anyway, this journal can be deleted if you're not digging it.  Just let me know what you think.
